A male New College student once told me his theory that grade school is biased toward women, who are better at rote memorization and organization, while men excel in college because they are better at abstract, higher order thinking. Since he lacks the ability to memorize and organize, they must be inferior feminine traits! As a cis female, made me feel angry at hearing such bullshit sexist ‘logic’ and dismayed that he was resorting to sexist generalizations to feed his own ego. And at New College of all places!
